I'm back with a little Wedding Wednesday!
I haven't been around the blog world too much lately, but work as been keeping me SO BUSY that when I'm not working, I've taken the welcome opportunity to let my brain turn into mush, which isn't overly conducive to blog-writing (though sometimes it looks that way).
As some of you know, we are planning a destination wedding for February 2013. Since it is destination, our time-line is set quite a few months ahead of a traditional wedding.
We sent out our save-the-dates at 10 months, and because guests must reserve their rooms 60 days out, we will be shipping out invitations 4-5 months prior to the date.
Since we will be traveling pretty much the whole month of July and part of August, we had to get a head start on invitation designing so that the proofs would be settled on when we returned.
When I saw these awesome airline ticket invitations, I knew they would be PERFECT for our beach wedding.
I emailed the Melody at emdotzee, and while I LOVE the design, we are still working to get the colors right.
Check 'em out so far...

I like the darker palm trees, but almost think a mix of the two coral colors would be just right?
At first glance, I thought the second draft was still not it, but looking at it here next to the color scheme, maybe it is?
I really don't have an eye for this kind of thing.
What do you think? Which is a better match, or should we keep trying? The last thing I want to do is be all "bridezilla" about these, so I feel almost bad going back and asking for another revision. Am I being silly?
If you're just joining, you can check out the following to see where we are so far:

What a cute invitation, I'm loving it! I think the second draft looks perfect with your color scheme, it also looks a lot cleaner and easier to read.
gah. loooove them. and I agree with Bri up there ... I adore that second one. love them both, but the second is my fav. you have some good taste girl!
I like the first one. Or the palm trees of the second but with the coral in the first.
LOVE this idea! So unique!
...and after inspecting both, I'm definitely leaning towards the second draft, it seems easier on the eyes. :)
It's my three year wedding anniversary, so I'm definitely going to weigh in! I think you can use almost any combination of dark blue and teal, so you just have to pick the colors that appeal to you. In your color scheme, I like the invitation with the bow and the printed pillow. I would almost make the palm tree, etc., darker, and the coral, etc., lighter. Your designer will not care, since what you are asking for is all totally normal stuff.
What a great invitation and how exciting! We had a destination wedding as well so I hear you on the waayyyyyy ahead planning! I'm with Karen177 above, love the darker palm trees with the lighter coral#1. And I think you should absolutely ask for a revision if you're not sure yet. Not silly at all!
I like the idea of having two shades in the coral... can they be mixed in each piece or does each piece have to be one solid?
Love the invites, btw!
really glad to hear about your timeline - I wasn't sure for destination weddings, but we'll be doing something similar! wedding in late Aug 2013, STDs going out in late Nov, and invites going on in March. woo!
I love the way those look! :) (and can I just say how well prepared you are?? amazing)
Cute!! I'm jealous. My invitations were not this good. Also I'd stick with your second draft. I like the darker colors - I think they make it easier to read and give it a bit of a cleaner look! Plus you won't have to worry about the invitations anymore :)
I love them! The boarding pass idea is too great for words :) I think the second one is my favorite, I also like the darker palm trees!
